A 4-cube

This is a whimsical rendering of the 4-cube. I stole the initial configuration from the Math Department homepage at the University of Texas at Tyler but the object is no longer to be found there.

If you have Java 1.1 (you do if you have Netscape 4.0 or Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.0 or later on a PC) then you should be able to put your mouse pointer inside the picture to the left (after it loads) and the figure will spin on an axis. If you click the left button, the rotation will stop. While holding down the left mouse button, drag it slowly across the image and let go to give the image a spin. Let me know if it doesn't work. (Warning: I had trouble with Netscape 4.5, which eventually crashed!)

This image was produced using Mathematica and converted to the animation with LiveGraphics3D.
