Wednesday, Feb. 16, at 3:30pm, in BH 405,
The First Department of Mathematics Colloquium of 2005
will feature
Dr. Aurel Stan,
Assistant Professor of Mathematics.
The title of Dr. Stan's talk is
"Characterization of probability measures in terms of their creation, annihilation, and number operators"
and concerns joint work with Professors Luigi Accardi from Centro Vito Volterra in Rome, Italy and Hui-Hsiung Kuo from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge.
Abstract
In this talk we will characterize simple properties of probability measures like symmetry and factorizability in terms of their creation, annihilation, and number operators.
