WORK EXPERIENCE
1970-1972 Captain, U.S. Army. Worked as an Operations Research Analyst in
support of the Chief of Staff of the Army at the Pentagon.
1972-Present Assistant Professor,
Associate Professor, and Professor of Mathematics, LSU-Shreveport.
1981-1986
Chairman, Department
of Mathematics, LSU-Shreveport.
1992-Present Director,
Louisiana Preparatory Program (LaPREP). Designed, developed, directs,
and acquires sources of funding for this enrichment program for high-ability
middle and high school students that takes place
on the LSU-Shreveport campus for two consecutive
summers, seven weeks per summer. Its goal is to encourage and instruct its
participants to successfully complete a college program, preferably in math or
the sciences.
1996-2001 Chair,
Department of Mathematics, LSU-Shreveport.
1996-Present Founder
and Director, Math Helpers, Inc., an organization composed of
faculty members and students, who tutor inner-city youth in the
Shreveport/Bossier area.
